Gymnastics Class Descriptions
Tiny IGUANAS AND YOU (12-23 Months OLD)
This class is designed for the parent and child to enjoy one-on-one time together. We encourage child and parent interaction not only with each other, but also with other children to promote healthy relationships. This program introduces your child to the world of gymnastics. Body awareness and balance will be developed through an "obstacle course" arrangement of mats, foam inclines, mailboxes, barrels, and steps. One parent is required to attend class with the child.
IGUANAS AND YOU (2-3 YEARS OLD)
This program introduces the child to the next level of pre-gymnastics with the parent. Body awareness and balance will be developed through an "obstacle course" arrangement of mats, foam inclines, mailboxes, barrels, and steps. This program will introduce your 2 and 3 year olds to the early basics of gymnastics through tumbling. One parent is required to attend class with the child.
IGUANAS (3-4 YEARS OLD)
This class is for the child who loves to jump, roll, and climb. Children will be introduced to the junior bar, beam, vault, and tumbling exercises. Body awareness and balance will be further developed through an "obstacle course" arrangement of mats. Parents do not attend this class.
YOUNG BEGINNERS (5-6 YEARS OLD)
This class is meant to be a bridge for moving from our preschool program to our school-age program for young girls. These classes further develop gymnastics skills by introducing standard gymnastics equipment: Vault, Bars, Beam, Floor.
BEGINNER GYMNASTICS (7 AND UP, BOYS AND GIRLS)
This is our entry-level class. It is designed to teach beginner level gymnastics skills on all the standard events. Children develop body awareness, control, balance, flexibility, and strength.
SUPER BEGINNERS (6 AND UP, GIRLS)
This class is designed to further advance the beginner level skills. The gymnasts continue to work on strength, balance, and coordination on each of the events, as well as learning new skills.
INTERMEDIATE GYMNASTICS (6 AND UP, BOYS AND GIRLS)
This class is designed for students who already possess basic gymnastics skills and are ready to move on to more challenging skills such as (FLOOR) walkovers, front and back handsprings, (BARS) glide swings, tap swing, and (BEAM) roundoff dismounts.
ADVANCED GYMNASTICS (6 AND UP, BOYS AND GIRLS)
This class is designed to develop advanced body awareness, body control, and balance, and to further build strength and flexibility. This class teaches more challenging skills by building on skills learned in intermediate gymnastics.
